Project Scope
The concept for this campaign was to visually represent the many names of Jesus in the Gospels (Wonderful Counselor, King of Kings, etc.) to create a hopeful message for the Christmas season. Instead of coming up with abstract ideas or graphics to illustrate this, I put forth a tangible and physical execution of the graphics and utilized photographs as much as possible. There is a sense of playfulness with the notion of a physical gold adorned ‘ABOVE’ over a smaller ‘all names.’ This makes ‘Above’ in all its luster stand in for the majesty of Christ. We overtly use rope and wire to suspend the physical letters to break the 4th wall between reality and an abstract graphic. The result is a unique Christmas series that still utilizes metaphor while being subversive in its execution.
